Julia Costin is a Business Relationship Manager at CareerSource Broward (CSBD), quasi-government agency, and leader of the technology sector strategy initiative. She works closely with regional technology associations, school boards, universities, and local companies to support the improvement of workforce development programs. Her forte is gathering business intelligence about current emerging technologies and workforce needs. Julia helps CSBD to strategically position with respect to the demands and talent needs of technology industry. In her endeavor to support workforce development, she has expanded the Broward Intern Portal to significantly increase youth and business engagement. Prior to joining CSBD, Julia has worked with several international organizations providing strategic Business Development and Marketing solutions to drive sustainable and profitable growth. She has experience in expanding businesses and thrives on cross-border collaboration across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Julia has earned an M.B.A in Entrepreneurship from Nova Southeastern University, and Bachelor???s Degree in International Business from Northwood University. She has applied her expertise to increase the participation of international companies in U.S. trade missions to facilitate and promote economic growth. Julia is a strong supporter of citizen diplomacy emphasizing the importance of creating synergy between businesses, local administration and various communities. She has merged her passion for entrepreneurship and community development to help non-profit organizations grow and promote their initiatives. Julia is passionate about women empowerment, diversity inclusion in the workforce, and veteran employment. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for ISACA South Florida responsible for ???SheLeadsTech??? initiative to help increase the representation of women in technology leadership roles. Her work with these groups is deeply meaningful and has inspired positive and life-changing results in the lives of people over the years.

She has a Bachelor???s Degree with honors from the Northwood University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Huizenga School of Business.


Professional Affiliations:

Chapter’s Committees and Their Duties

The Membership Committee :?? Promotes interest in the Chapter, and in the Association, and conducts an ongoing membership campaign. When requested by the Association, the local Chapter, through its membership committee, shall receive and forward applications for membership to the Association.

The Education Committee:?? Recommends and oversees seminars and programs of professional education

The Certification Committee :?? Assists the Chapter Director of CGEIT, CISA, CISM, & CRISC Certifications in promoting the CGEIT, CISA and CISM examinations and professional designations locally. Provides assistance in planning and conducting Chapter???s exam review courses.

The Audit Committee : ?? Audits the Chapter accounts at the close of the fiscal year and to report at the annual general meeting. Members of the audit committee are selected in a manner that guards against conflict of interest.

The Long Range Planning Committee :?? Reviews the affairs of the Chapter and makes recommendations to the Chapter Board and the chapter members concerning ways and means by which the Chapter???s purpose given in Article II can be met. Develops a strategic plan, to regularly review the adopted plan, and to prepare and submit plan amendments to the Chapter Board for adoption.

The Bylaws Committee :?? Reports to the board and shall maintain the bylaws. The bylaws committee expedites the process of changing the bylaws in accordance with Article XII of the bylaws. Assure that all proposed changes conform to any local laws, examines the consistency of the proposed changes with other provisions of the bylaws and with those of the Association. Suggests wording for proposed changes.
