Alexis is a Principal with CaribTel Network Group, Inc managing Data Security, Data Privacy, Enterprise Messaging, and Business Continuity solutions. In that capacity as a Sr. solution architect he works with clients to assess, design and implement best practice solutions that mitigate risk, and exposure to corporate data. Prior to CaribTel Network Group, Inc he worked at Jackson Health System with responsibility for developing and monitoring practices to ensure that JHS’s information technology is secure from unauthorized access, protected from inappropriate alteration, physically secure, and available to authorized users in a timely fashion. Additional coordination, oversight and management of all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and compliance with the entity’s policies, procedures, and standards governing the privacy, confidentiality, and security of all individually identifiable health information in compliance with HIPAA, the Department of Health and Human Services (“DHHS”) regulations implementing HIPAA. Prior to Jackson Health Alexis worked for for Broward Health, the nations 10th largest Community Health System, as a Senior Storage & Messaging Engineer, overseeing enterprise operations for Messaging, Business Continuity and Storage Management. Prior to Broward Health, Alexis worked for Office Depot, Inc designing and testing Business Continuity Solutions that allow that business to operate effectively knowing that their data were recoverable during the time of a disaster, whether due to human error or by nature. At Office Depot, he also oversaw the corporate expansion of data transfers between the business and banking clients design and executing cryptographic technologies built on PGP Data Encryption and Key Management process, which protect the data in transit between the business and financial institutions..

Chapter’s Committees and Their Duties

The Membership Committee Promotes interest in the Chapter, and in the Association, and conducts an ongoing membership campaign. When requested by the Association, the local Chapter, through its membership committee, shall receive and forward applications for membership to the Association.

The Education Committee:  Recommends and oversees seminars and programs of professional education

The Certification Committee Assists the Chapter Director of CGEIT, CISA, CISM, & CRISC Certifications in promoting the CGEIT, CISA and CISM examinations and professional designations locally. Provides assistance in planning and conducting Chapter’s exam review courses.

The Audit Committee :   Audits the Chapter accounts at the close of the fiscal year and to report at the annual general meeting. Members of the audit committee are selected in a manner that guards against conflict of interest.

The Long Range Planning Committee :  Reviews the affairs of the Chapter and makes recommendations to the Chapter Board and the chapter members concerning ways and means by which the Chapter’s purpose given in Article II can be met. Develops a strategic plan, to regularly review the adopted plan, and to prepare and submit plan amendments to the Chapter Board for adoption.

The Bylaws CommitteeReports to the board and shall maintain the bylaws. The bylaws committee expedites the process of changing the bylaws in accordance with Article XII of the bylaws. Assure that all proposed changes conform to any local laws, examines the consistency of the proposed changes with other provisions of the bylaws and with those of the Association. Suggests wording for proposed changes.
